God’s grace is just that: GRACE. Goodness and blessings to us despite being undeserving and unworthy of them. Not only the initial gift of salvation, which really begins our relationship with God in a personal way, but as His children He has many precious promises and blessings for us even now which He wants to give us. By faith we believe God and accept from Him every good thing. If we really understand and appreciate who Jesus is and what He did in order that my sins can be forgiven, it will forever impact and change our whole approach to God, to sin, and those around us.
Yeshua suffered so much and died such a horrible death in order that we CAN be recipients of God’s amazing grace and of His blessings. Not to be willing to receive them is to actually dishonor the price which Jesus paid so that we CAN receive them. It is a false humility and an inappropriate guilty conscience which we too often use to refuse all that the Lord has for us. Nor is it selfish if our motive is to draw near to God, to be a blessing to others, and to honor Yeshua for what He accomplished on the cross for each of us personally, and for all of us in Messiah together.
