In memoriam to David Wallis, who died in an Arizona prison hospital on Aug 19, 2026.  This was his last poem sent to me on July 23.  

Those who deny self, take up their cross daily and follow Christ, are His men;   Lk 9:23 
  Those who are Christ’s have crucified the fleshly passions, their soul to Him now open;   Gal 5:24 
  Even suffering works for the good to those who love God and are called to be His children.   Rom 8:28 

God uses our suffering to perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish us for His eternal glory;   1Pt 5:10  
  God’s strength is perfected in our weakness, so we enjoy weakness that Christ’s power may be our story.   2Cor 12:9  
  Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you to never again worry.   Ja 4:10
