Howard Bass’ “Streams in the Negev” article, Israel’s 78th Independence Day (dated April 20, 2026), is timely, comprehensive, succinct, and stirs up a wonderful excitement in one as one contemplates the marvellous steadfast love and commitment of the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! Jerusalem will realise her destiny as the City of Peace (“realise” in the sense of accomplish/attain)! May Yeshua Sar Shalom soon return to Zion!
Thank-you, Gavin, for sharing your excitement and blessed hope of the return of the Lord and all that that brings!
Shalom to you and Nannette.
This topic is and has been an intriguing passage to scores of scholars and historians for hundreds of years. There is some agreement on some of the points amongst these scholars but much more disagreement on how to interpret it. As I have read these accounts extensively, there is one crucial element I found that was missing from most of them. That element was that they did not use the Jewish method for the determining the passage of time, that being “inclusive reckoning.” When using this inclusive reckoning from the starting date of Nisan 1, 3317 (April 2 444 BC) to the time of Christ’s death, which occurred on April 3, 33 AD, the timeline shows that Christ died on the first day of the 69th week and not after the 69 weeks had passed.
For a PDF copy of my detailed article entitled, “Daniel’s 70 Weeks The Fullness of Time”, at no cost, here’s a link to it. https://go.davidaaronbeaty.com/evangelism
That gives so much hope for our future!
Also, amazing indeed that it became dark at the time of Yeshua’s death and that He rose at first light of the 8th day of the week!
PTL! The Sun of Righteousness, and the bright and morning Star!
Interesting. Thanks, Klaas.
The previous winter (2024-2025) was unseasonably dry, but that also meant a drought in Iran that might have had a strong influence on the uprising by the people there, which was one of the triggers of the current war.
God gives rain in due season, He is good!
Thanks Howard! I found your response! It will surely unfold exactly as He has spoken it, and as we trust in Him we can look forward with great expectation! Then, all “dim”understanding will become clear! Thank you for your good input!
Thanks, Ellen. Amen!
Hi Howard,
Thank you for your insight! I see so many fall under the desire for more money and then fall completely.
Bless you,
Klaas
Thank-you, Klaas. We all need the fear of the LORD!
Hi Ellen. Thanks alot for reading, and for taking the time to comment.
I agree with you that the Lord’s return is not imminent — meaning coming at any moment, even right now as I write! — because He gives us things and signs to watch for before that day, and there are still some really significant things that must be seen towards that. Those dead in Christ on the “last day” will be resurrected, and those alive in Christ then will be caught up alive, and, praise God, we all will receive our eternal redeemed body.
“All Israel” being saved does not mean every Jew or every Israeli. But there will be a saved remnant from all of the Tribes of Jacob/Israel of those in Jacob (unredeemed) who turn from ungodliness and become “Israel”, those who have been overcomers in the struggle with God and man: God rules, not us! All glory to Him who sits upon the Throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever!
God will send out angels to finish preaching the everlasting gospel, reaching those that we will not get to, and even cannot get to. But He can, and knows how within the time that He has given to finish His perfect redemptive plan. For me, when Yeshua/Jesus says that “the generation that sees the fig tree put forth leaves will see His return”, this is the generation that will see the fulfillment of all that He Himself has said must be done, and up till the day and hour that the Father has set.
The Millennial Kingdom will fulfill the original mandate to subdue the earth under God’s righteous rule, with the Man Christ Jesus ruling with the human saints who have part in the First Resurrection to establish forever YHVH God’s Kingdom and the Father’s will to be done as in Heaven.
I am not trying to be dogmatic, and the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. And we are not there yet. At the end of the day, we are saved by our faith in Jesus and His blood shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. As the Lord says: blessed is that servant whom His master, when He comes, is found doing what he/she was given by Him to do.
Thank you Howard for good food for thought!
There are certainly many mysteries in the scriptures that will unfold as time moves on.
I don’t believe the return of Christ is eminent due to the many tongues, tribes and nations who still have yet to hear His name. I also wonder about God’s plan that we believers are kings and priests and that we are to fulfill His original plan for us to subdue the earth. And I wonder what “all Israel shall be saved” (Romans 11:26) means. Personally, I’m looking forward to many very good years before we get to the “catching away” of the church. I trust more light will keep shining as we move forward in Him!
Shalom Shalom!!!
Reading the article about God needing us! My theological opinion is that He NEEDS US TO PRAY! After the fall in Eden, He arranged life on this earth according to free will and natural law.
This “free will” is bound by evil inclinations and the natural laws of reaping and sowing.
HE DEPENDS ON US TO PRAY. We have to give our “free will” back to our Creator in order for Him to change outcomes on this earth and in the people we pray for…or AGAINST!
Beautiful. Such Clarity.
Brother I am thankful to read this. I have the same understanding, & to me it’s funny we should have to clarify what seems apparent. I am seeing a certain lie slither its way into churches, where Jews & Jewishness are being put on a pedestal, to the point that the Gentile believers feel as if they are being adopted as Jews bc Jesus is a Jew. They think to be Christian means to become a Jew, or that only Jews can understand the Old Testament. They basically think that Jews are better than they are, or closer to God..& that to be adopted into the family of God means becoming a Jew.
These mindsets that are not spiritual. This deception comes by looking through natural eyes. We see in Isaiah the it was too small a thing to be sent to restore the tribes of Jacob, but that He should make him as a light to the gentiles, to the ends of the Earth. Then we see in 1 Corinthians there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, but all are made to drink of one Spirit, all are one in Christ. Then there is also Ephesians 2. Is Jesus a Jew first or a Son of God? The core of His identity is as God the Son, not as a Jewish man. Being of Jewish descent is secondary. The Spirit of God was a born into the body of a man.
We are adopted as citizens to Heaven, not made into Jews. There is a confusion that is really hard to articulate, it hides & lies very subtly. I love Jews just as much as any other, but I hate any lie that draws people from the truth. What is strange is how it hides, but only gets drawn out & articulated when the Spirit of God compels it, so that it can be corrected & uprooted. I am one He chose to see it & to correct it. At first I didn’t even want to deal with it. I just wanted to ignore it & let them believe what they choose.
But the Holy Spirit burns inside of me, until I embraced what pleases God. I pray He purifies His Bride of every lie. Both Gentile & Jew are both reconciled to God in Christ. Although the law was given to the Jews, it was not able to justify them. Without Yeshua the Jew would be apart from the Spirit of God, just as the Gentile.
Shalom Christopher.
I thank God that someone understands and agrees. Thanks for responding. May the Holy Spirit continue to lead all the disciples into all truth, which will also sanctify us and set us free. Our focus will be more on Yeshua/Jesus, and less on ourselves and particular cultures. There is the Kingdom of God culture that we need to learn to live by, promoting one new man in Messiah/Christ, that is neither Jewish nor Greek/Gentile, but contains redeemed elements of both.
How did you happen to come upon this teaching, and the site?
Shalom.
In case of any misunderstanding of what I wrote about President Trump’s peace plan, and his part in it:
I do not think that Trump is the Antichrist. I do not believe that the Antichrist will be an American. But the apostle John did write that there are many antichrists in the world, and Yeshua said that they will try to deceive the elect, if possible. So, we do need great discernment when the time actually comes, so that we are not caught completely off-guard.
To deceive the elect, if possible, he will have to come across as someone who, at least, speaks well of Jesus and of Israel; otherwise, the elect could not possibly be deceived. I personally believe that both the Antichrist and the false prophet (Yeshua spoke of many false christs and prophets will be active in the endtimes) will be those that seemed to be real believers, but that either fell away from the faith, or else were always wolves in
sheeps’ clothing.
The reason I believe that is because, unlike any other human beings going to Hell/the lake of fire, they will go there directly, and not first going before the great white throne for their judgment. They willfully know what they were doing. Scary!
Very nice list Howard, I’m saving this for reference!
Thanks, Sam. Glad you find it useful and useable. PTL!
May God bless you abundantly! I came across this site while looking for Streams in the Desert. So while it would seem like accidently, I would say Holy Spirit intentional.
I don’t know who you are, how long this site has been here, and I hardly see any comments. But I pray you keep writing. So much clarity has been shown here and I love the scriptural verifications. In light of scripture, the current events are much clearer. Thank you and keep up spreading the truth and teaching. This site helps me to help others to understand and connect the dots to God’s plan for Israel and the world, now and the end times.
Thank-you very much, Pat. It’s interesting how the Lord had you find the site, hidden in plain sight. There are lots of deserts, but only one Negev desert. Assuming that you were looking for the sight of Streams in the Desert that is in Israel, I know that ministry, and support it.
God bless you, and I thank Him for making the article useful, which is my aim. Shalom.
Love this article!
“Amen Howard, outstanding article!! In Ezekiel 36 it is stated that the Almighty will clean His people after they are returned to the Land, and they will receive a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:25-27. This does not happen until after they are returned, not before…..so it cannot be applicable to the “Church”, the “new” Israel. Furthermore, Ezekiel 36 states that it was not for their sake, it was for the sake of His Name which will be vindicated, in spite of their sin, “be confounded for your ways O house of Israel!”
The Scripture is clear, the Church is comprised of both believing Jews and Gentiles, but there are specific promises to His people Israel that obviously do not apply to grafted in Gentiles…..it is a “both and” situation, not an “either or””
Douglas, I don’t know if you are being serious or not. Being non-Jewish is not a curse, and Jews have been cursed a lot. The one true God is God of the Jews and of the Gentiles, and the Father sent His beloved Son, Yeshua/Jesus, to die for you and for me. Whatever curse or disadvantage you may feel is removed through faith in Jesus and His death for us on the cross.
All true believers in Him are sons and daughters in the true God’s family, sitting at the same table. Can’t get better than that!
This is the comment that my reply answered, by Douglas Magill on Jan 15:
“It sucks to be born a Gentile, beause it sucks to be unchosen and outside the Jewish people! Why did God even make anyone a Gentile? Why didn’t God make everyone a Jew if is is so much more blessed to be a Jew? Why would God curse anyone with Gentile DNA?”
Beautiful. So many believers do not understand this. I am glad I am not alone.
