God Knows Who He Is!

God knows who He is!  He does not have an identity crisis. And collective Israel and the Jewish people are His witnesses, through whom He has made Himself personally known to the rest of the world.  Gentile believers in Jesus Christ/Yeshua the Messiah have also become His witnesses to make the true God known, even to the Jews!

Jesus knows who He is!  Yeshua/Jesus is the Son of this God – YHVH – and, in truth, He is YHVH God in the flesh – the Son of Man — so that YHVH is the near-relative Redeemer both of the whole House of Jacob/Israel, and also for every human being for all time. (Lev 25:47-50)  He paid the ransom price for us all by His death on the cross and shed blood of the New Covenant; thus, He, too, is the unique and only Son of the Living God, and there is no other to whom He can be compared:  He alone knows the Father, and to those He chooses to reveal Him. (Mt 11:25-30; Lk 10:21-24; Jn 17:25-26)  The God and Father of Yeshua the Messiah/Jesus Christ has become our Father through saving faith in His beloved Son!

Last time I spoke of our responsibility and privilege to be able to give a defense of the faith in the truth that God exists, and that He is the Creator of all things, and that He has revealed Himself to all mankind, and especially through the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.  Jesus was born an Israeli Jew to an Israeli Jewish mother, and foster father, in Bethlehem in Judea, and grew up in Nazareth in the Galilee.  He is the express relevation of the true God.  Jews and all Christians are His witnesses; we are called by His Name. (Num 6:22-27; Acts 11:25-26; Jn 15:9-17; 2Cor 6:16-18; Is 65:8-16)  The Holy Spirit living within spiritually born-again believers bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

We read in Genesis, and in Job, that even though the books are written with the Name YHVH in them, neither Noah, nor Abraham, nor Isaac, nor Jacob, nor Job knew Him by that Name.  God revealed His name as YHVH to Moses. (Gen 12:1-3; Ex 6:2; Gen 21:30-33; Job 42:1-8; Jer 9:23-24; Rom 9:1-5; Jn 4:21-26; 17:1-8)

Is 43:10-13   “You are My witnesses, says YHVH, and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I Am He.  Before Me there was no God formed, and nor shall there be after Me.  I, even I, am YHVH, and besides Me there is no Savior.  I have declared and saved; I have proclaimed, and there was no foreign god among you.  Therefore you are My witnesses, says YHVH, that I Am GOD!  Indeed before the day was, I Am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand.  I work, and who will reverse it?!”

Gen 1:1; 2:4   “In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth ….”
“This is the history of the heavens and the Earth when they were created, in the
day that YHVH God made the Earth and the heavens ….”

Is 40:25-28   “To whom then will ye liken Me, that I should be equal to him? saith the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these, that bringeth out their host by number; He calleth them all by name; by the greatness of His might, and for that He is strong in power, not one is lacking.

27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Yehovah, and the justice due to me is passed away from my God? 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Yehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.”

Is 44:6-8, 21-25 (Rev 1:7-11; Lk 24:21; Mt 16:13-18; Jn 1:49-51; 12:37-41; Is 6:1-5)  “Thus saith Yehovah, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yehovah of Hosts/Armies: I am the first, and I am the last; and besides Me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I established the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and that shall come to pass, let them declare. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have I not declared unto thee of old, and showed it? and ye are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? yea, there is no Rock; I know not any.”

“Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel; for thou art My servant: I have formed thee; thou art My servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten by Me. 22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto Me; for I have redeemed thee. 23 Sing, O ye heavens, for Jehovah hath done it; shout, ye lower parts of the earth; break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for Yehovah hath redeemed Jacob, and will glorify Himself in Israel.

24 Thus saith Yehovah, thy Redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb: I am Yehovah, that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth  (who is with Me?!); 25 that frustrateth the signs of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;”

Is 45:5-7, 14-19, 21-25 (Philp 2:5-11; 1Jn 4:12-16)  “I am Yehovah, and there is none else; besides Me there is no God. I will gird thee [Cyrus], though thou hast not known Me; that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides Me: I am Yehovah, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I am Yehovah, that doeth all these things.”

“Thus saith Yehovah, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall go after thee, in chains they shall come over; and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. 15 Verily Thou art a God that hidest Thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. 16 They shall be put to shame, yea, confounded, all of them; they shall go into confusion together that are makers of idols. 17 But Israel shall be saved by Yehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be put to shame nor confounded world without end.

18 For thus saith Yehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not in vain, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Yehovah; and there is none else. 19 I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye Me in vain: I, Yehovah, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.”

“Declare ye, and bring it forth; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath showed this from ancient time? who hath declared it of old? have not I, Yehovah? and there is no God else besides Me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none besides Me. 22 Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else. 23 By Myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Only in Yehovah, it is said of Me, is righteousness and strength; even to Him shall men come; and all they that were incensed against Him shall be put to shame. 25 In Yehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.”

Mt 11:25-30; 16:15-17
“At that time Yeshua/Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The living God has communicated to us to share with us what He is about.  This is what He said about Abraham when He was going to judge Sodom and Gomorrah; and what Yeshua said to His disciples as He was opening His heart to them.  The Lord wants us to be understanding and expectant, strengthening us with His Spirit for the time when the final sustained thrust is called for to finish the race and the warfare victoriously to the glory of His Name.
