As we celebrate the Passover, we can rejoice as we remember that not only has Yehovah made His name great as the God of Israel who brought His people up out of Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm to serve Him, but also the whole world is reminded that Jesus Christ/Yeshua the Messiah died and rose again during this special night and week which God has given us.
As great as what God did to bring the Israelis out of Egypt to bring them into the Land of Canaan to give it to them for an inheritance, YHVH claims through the prophet Jeremiah that the work of redemption going on now in bringing His scattered people back to this very land from all around the world is even greater.
Jer 16:14-15 “Therefore behold, days are coming,” declares Yehovah, “when it will no longer be said, ‘As Yehovah lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘As Yehovah lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where He had banished them.’ For I will restore them to their own land which I gave to their fathers.”
Jer 23:1-8 “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!” declares Yehovah. Therefore thus says Yehovah, God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds,” declares the LORD.
“Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares Yehovah.
“Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yehovah, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch (Plant); and He will reign as king and act wisely, and do justice and righteousness in the land.
“In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called,‘Yehovah our righteousness.’
“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when they will no longer say, ‘As Yehovah lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt, but, ‘As Yehovah lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”
