VISION: PATIENCE TILL THE HARVEST

Lk 12:42-43   And the Lord said, ‘Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?  Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.

Ja 5:7-12   Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.  See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.  You also be patientEstablish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned.  Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!  My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the LORD, as an example of suffering and patience.  Indeed we count them blessed who endure.  You have heard of the perserverance of Job and seen the end of the Lord – that the LORD is very compassionate and merciful.

But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by Heaven or by Earth or with any other oath.  But let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes’, and ‘no’ ‘no’, lest you fall into judgment

Patience of Hope
1Thes 1:3   remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ

Rom 5:2b-5a   and rejoice in hope of the glory of GodAnd not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance character; and character hope.  Now hope does not disappoint. . . .

Example of Prophetic Patience and Endurance
Heb 11:37   Isaiah said to have been sawn asunder
Jer 38:6   Jeremiah was thrown into a pit with no water, but mire that he sunk into
Job         did not curse God, and have faith and hope that he would see his Redeemer in the flesh

Patience with Humility and Self-Control in Trusting God
Mt 5:33-37  Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’  But I say to you, do not swear at all:  neither by Heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the Earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.  Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.  But let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes’, and ‘no’ ‘no’.  For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
