Gay Pride Parade Canceled in Beer Sheva; Protest Demonstration Last Night – 15 July 2016

The proud LGBT community in Beer Sheva had planned a parade on the main thoroughfare of the city on Thursday, which was canceled after the community organizers refused a compromise route, suggested by police over security concerns, in a court ruling.  Last night, between 1500-2000 persons demonstrated at the Municipality Plaza in Beer Sheva.  It is very interesting that the Hebrew word for “proud” is the same word used by the LGBT for “gay” — גאה — and is pronounced ge’eh.  … Continue reading
